略歴（Biography）

笠井亮平（かさいりょうへい、1976年生まれ）は、日本のジャーナリスト、南アジア研究者。岐阜女子大学南アジア研究センター特別客員准教授。専門は日印関係史、南アジアの国際関係、インド・パキスタンの政治で、在インド、中国、パキスタンの日本大使館で外務省専門調査員を務めた経験を持つ。『モディが変えるインド』『第三の大国インドの思考』『インパールの戦い』『インドの食卓』『『実利論』古代インド「最強の戦略書」などの著書や、多数の翻訳を通じて、インドをはじめとする南アジアの歴史、政治、外交、文化を多角的な視点から読み解き、日本の読者にその実像を伝え続けている。

Ryohei Kasai (born 1976) is a Japanese journalist and scholar specializing in South Asian studies. He is a Specially Appointed Associate Professor at the South Asia Research Center of Gifu Women's University. His expertise includes the history of Japan–India relations, South Asian international relations, and the politics of India and Pakistan. Having served as a Foreign Ministry research specialist at the Japanese embassies in India, China, and Pakistan, he brings extensive firsthand experience to his work. Through books such as Modi's India, India: The Thinking of the Third Great Power, The Battle of Imphal, The Indian Table, and Arthashastra: Ancient India's Greatest Book of Statecraft, as well as numerous translations, he offers Japanese readers insightful perspectives on the history, politics, diplomacy, and culture of South Asia.
