Jung Chang (born 1952) is a British writer and historian of Chinese origin. Drawing on her own experiences during the Cultural Revolution and extensive historical research, she has written influential works on modern Chinese history, totalitarianism, and political power. Her books have been translated into numerous languages and have introduced generations of readers to the human consequences of twentieth-century China. Her best-known work, "Wild Swans: Three Daughters of China," is regarded as a landmark memoir and historical account of modern China through the lives of three generations of women.
