Yael van der Wouden（ヤエル・ファン・デル・ワウデン、1987年生まれ）は、オランダの小説家、エッセイスト。イスラエル・テルアビブ生まれ。イスラエル人の母とオランダ人の父のもとに生まれ、10歳でオランダへ移住した。Utrecht UniversityおよびBinghamton Universityで比較文学を学び、創作や文学を教える傍ら執筆活動を続けている。ユダヤ人のアイデンティティ、記憶、ジェンダー、歴史といったテーマを繊細な筆致で描く作品で注目を集め、デビュー長編"The Safekeep"（『セーフキープ』）は2024年Booker Prize最終候補となり、2025年にはWomen's Prize for Fictionを受賞した。エッセイ"On (Not) Reading Anne Frank"も高く評価されている。
Yael van der Wouden (born 1987) is a Dutch novelist, essayist, and creative writing teacher. Born in Tel Aviv to an Israeli mother and a Dutch father, she moved to the Netherlands at the age of ten and studied comparative literature at Utrecht University and Binghamton University. Her writing explores themes of Jewish identity, historical memory, gender, and belonging with psychological depth and literary precision. Her debut novel, "The Safekeep," was shortlisted for the 2024 Booker Prize and won the 2025 Women's Prize for Fiction, establishing her as one of the most acclaimed new voices in contemporary fiction. She is also the author of the widely praised essay "On (Not) Reading Anne Frank."
