Mika Yamamori is a Japanese manga artist from Ishikawa Prefecture. She made her debut in 2005 with “Kimi no Kuchibiru kara Maho” and later created such shojo manga as “Hirunaka no Ryusei” (“Daytime Shooting Star”) and “Tsubaki-chou Lonely Planet.” “Daytime Shooting Star,” which follows a high school student caught between her teacher and a classmate, was adapted into a live-action film in 2017. Her ongoing series “Uruwashi no Yoi no Tsuki” (“In the Clear Moonlit Dusk”) won the 2023 ebookjapan Manga Award and ranked fourth on the women’s list in “Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2022.” Her work examines romantic uncertainty, changing perceptions of others, and the distance between outward appearance and private identity.
