山口 昌子（YAMAGUCHI Shoko）- ジャーナリスト、翻訳家

山口昌子（やまぐち しょうこ、1940年生まれ）は、日本のジャーナリスト。慶應義塾大学文学部卒業後、フランス政府給費留学生としてパリの新聞記者養成機関で学び、産経新聞入社後は1990年から21年間にわたりパリ支局長を務めた。長年にわたりフランス政治や外交、文化、社会を取材し、ボーン・上田記念国際記者賞やフランス政府のレジオン・ドヌール勲章などを受賞。『シャネルの真実』『パリの福澤諭吉』『ドゴールのいるフランス』『大統領府から読むフランス300年史』などを通じて、フランス社会の実像や日仏関係を深い洞察と豊富な現地取材に基づいて伝え続けている。

Shoko Yamaguchi (born 1940) is a Japanese journalist specializing in France and Europe. After graduating from Keio University, she studied journalism in Paris on a French government scholarship before joining Sankei Shimbun. She served as the newspaper's Paris bureau chief for 21 years, reporting extensively on French politics, diplomacy, culture, and society. A recipient of the Vaughn-Uyeda Memorial International Journalistic Award and France's Legion of Honour, she is the author of The Truth About Coco Chanel, Fukuzawa Yukichi in Paris, De Gaulle's France, and Three Hundred Years of French History Through the Élysée Palace. Through decades of on-the-ground reporting, she has offered Japanese readers insightful perspectives on France and its place in the modern world.
