ヤン・プランパー（Jan Plamper、1970–2023） 歴史学者。ドイツ出身。ロシア史、感情史、移民史を専門とし、歴史学と人類学、心理学、神経科学などの知見を横断しながら、人間の感情を歴史研究の対象として捉える「感情史」の発展を牽引した研究者の一人である。テュービンゲン大学やロンドン大学ゴールドスミス校で教鞭を執り、ケンブリッジ大学出版局「Elements in Histories of Emotions and the Senses」シリーズの編集主幹も務めた。代表作『感情史の始まり』（原題 "The History of Emotions: An Introduction"）は、感情史研究の成立から主要な理論や方法論までを体系的に整理し、この分野を学ぶための基本文献として広く読まれている。
Jan Plamper (1970–2023) was a German historian whose research focused on Russian history, the history of emotions, and migration. A leading figure in the development of the history of emotions, he brought together insights from history, anthropology, psychology, and the neurosciences to examine how emotions have been shaped across different societies and historical periods. He taught at the University of Tübingen and Goldsmiths, University of London, and served as editor of Cambridge University Press's "Elements in Histories of Emotions and the Senses" series. His best-known book, "The History of Emotions: An Introduction," provides a comprehensive overview of the origins, theories, and methods of the field and has become a standard introduction to the study of the history of emotions.
