Jan Lucassen（ヤン・ルカセン、1947年生まれ）は、オランダの歴史学者。International Institute of Social History名誉研究員。専門は社会史、労働史、グローバル・ヒストリーで、労働や移民、経済発展の歴史を世界規模で比較・分析している。『The Story of Work』『Global Labour History』『Prolegomena for a Global Labour History』などの著書を通じて、人類の労働の歴史を先史時代から現代までたどり、仕事が社会や経済、文明の形成に果たしてきた役割を描き出している。長期的かつ国際的な視点から労働の歴史を捉え直し、世界史を理解する新たな枠組みを提示している。
Jan Lucassen (born 1947) is a Dutch historian and Emeritus Research Fellow at the International Institute of Social History. Specializing in social history, labor history, and global history, his research compares the development of work, migration, and economic change across societies over the long term. He is the author of The Story of Work, Global Labour History, and Prolegomena for a Global Labour History, in which he traces the history of human labor from prehistoric times to the present and examines its central role in shaping societies, economies, and civilizations. By placing labor at the heart of world history, Lucassen offers a broader perspective on the evolution of human societies.
