Keiko Watarai (born 1963) is a Japanese translator of nonfiction on psychology, science, and social thought. She graduated from Sophia University’s Faculty of Letters. Her translation of Veronica O’Keane’s work on memory explores how neuroscience and psychiatry illuminate the connections between recollection, emotion, and the sense of self. Nathan Crick’s introduction to propaganda examines persuasion as a mechanism that shapes public perception and action, rather than treating it simply as false information. Watarai has also translated Erich Fromm’s “The Heart of Man” and books by Charles Duhigg on habits and communication. These works consider how individual thought and behavior develop within social relationships and institutions.
