Kazuyoshi Takeda (born 1975) is a Japanese manga artist from Iwamizawa, Hokkaido. After working as an assistant to manga artist Hiroya Oku, he made his debut in 2012 with "Sayonara Tama-chan," an autobiographical account of his treatment for testicular cancer. His best-known work, "Peleliu: Guernica of Paradise," follows Tamura, a young aspiring manga artist serving as a Japanese soldier during the Battle of Peleliu, depicting not only combat but also hunger, disease, friendship, and the routines of survival during a prolonged siege. The series received an Excellence Award from the Japan Cartoonists Association and was subsequently adapted into an animated feature film.
