W. Chan Kim (1952–) is a Korean-born business theorist and Professor of Strategy and International Management at INSEAD. He is best known as the co-creator of Blue Ocean Strategy, a framework that encourages organizations to pursue innovation by creating uncontested market space rather than competing in saturated markets. His research on strategy, innovation, and value creation has influenced businesses, governments, and nonprofit organizations around the world. Together with Renée Mauborgne, he co-authored the international bestseller Blue Ocean Strategy and the follow-up Blue Ocean Shift, expanding the practical application of the framework across industries and sectors.
