Tali Sharot is a cognitive neuroscientist, Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at University College London, director of its Affective Brain Lab, and Adjunct Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Using brain imaging and behavioral experiments, she studies how emotion and optimism bias shape memory, decision-making, information seeking, and social influence. Her representative work, "The Influential Mind: What the Brain Reveals About Our Power to Change Others," explains why people often reject facts that conflict with their existing beliefs and examines how emotion, incentives, personal agency, and the behavior of others can more effectively change opinions and actions.
