Yumiko Taniguchi is a Japanese translator and scholar of children's literature. Specializing in American children's books, she has translated numerous classics into Japanese and is particularly recognized for her work on the writings of Laura Ingalls Wilder. In addition to her translations, she has contributed to the study and interpretation of Wilder's works through research and commentary on the historical and cultural context of the American frontier. Her best-known work is her Japanese translation of "Little House on the Prairie," which has introduced new generations of readers in Japan to Wilder's classic novel.
