Kikuko Tanabe is a translator and researcher in translation education whose work ranges from world history and culture to business. She graduated from Tokyo University of Education and completed a master’s program in international politics and economics at Aoyama Gakuin University. She taught translation at Kobe College and studied how students’ understanding of translation changes through learning. With Kyoko Mitsufuji, she wrote a practical guide to English–Japanese and Japanese–English translation. Her translation of Marc Levinson’s Outside the Box examines globalization through logistics. For Yayoi Kusama: 1945 to Now, published in Japanese in 2026, she translated with Manami Matsuo, contributing to a catalogue that examines Kusama’s artistic development through works and documentary material.
