略歴（Biography）
竹内正浩（たけうち まさひろ、1963–） 文筆家、歴史探訪家、フリーライター。北海道大学卒業後、JTBで旅行雑誌などの編集に携わり、独立。地図、鉄道、近現代史をテーマに数多くの著作を執筆し、地形や歴史、社会背景から日本の鉄道や都市の成り立ちを読み解く作品で知られる。代表作『鉄道と日本軍』は、日本の鉄道建設と軍事政策の関係をたどり、近代日本の発展を支えた鉄道の役割を多角的に描いている。
Masahiro Takeuchi (born 1963) is a Japanese writer and historical researcher specializing in maps, railways, and modern Japanese history. After graduating from Hokkaido University, he worked as an editor for JTB before becoming a freelance writer. Through extensive research, he explores how geography, history, and society have shaped Japan's railways and cities. His best-known book, "Railways and the Japanese Military" ("Tetsudō to Nihon Gun"), traces the close relationship between railway development and military policy, illustrating the pivotal role railways played in Japan's modernization.
