竹内 淳（TAKEUCHI Atsushi）- 物理学者、半導体物理学専門家、早稲田大学先進理工学部応用物理学科教授

竹内淳（たけうち あつし、1960年–）は、日本の物理学者。大阪大学基礎工学部を卒業し、同大学大学院基礎工学研究科を修了した後、富士通研究所の研究員、マックス・プランク固体研究所の客員研究員などを経て、早稲田大学理工学術院教授を務める。半導体物理学と量子エレクトロニクスを専門とし、半導体量子構造で生じる一兆分の一秒単位の超高速現象や、電子スピンを光によって生成・制御する技術を研究してきた。物理学や数学を高校数学から説明する入門書も数多く執筆している。『高校数学でわかるフーリエ変換〈新装版〉 フーリエ級数からラプラス変換まで』では、複雑な波形を単純な波の集まりとして捉えるフーリエ級数とフーリエ変換の考え方を、三角関数や微分・積分の基礎から段階的に解説している。

Atsushi Takeuchi (1960–) is a Japanese physicist and a professor at Waseda University’s Faculty of Science and Engineering. After studying engineering science at Osaka University and completing its graduate program, he worked at Fujitsu Laboratories and served as a visiting researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research. Specializing in semiconductor physics and quantum electronics, he investigates ultrafast phenomena occurring on picosecond timescales in semiconductor quantum structures, as well as the optical generation and control of electron spins. He has also written numerous introductory books that explain physics and mathematics through high-school-level mathematics. “Koko sugaku de wakaru Furie henkan: Furie kyusu kara Rapurasu henkan made” develops the concepts of Fourier series and Fourier transforms—methods for representing complex waveforms as combinations of simpler waves—step by step from basic trigonometry and calculus.
