高取 芳彦（たかとり よしひこ）は、英語の書籍とニュース記事を訳す翻訳家。書籍翻訳に加え、報道記事の翻訳と編集を手がけ、国際政治、安全保障、現代社会を扱う作品に携わってきた。デイヴィッド・サンガーの『サイバー完全兵器』（原題 “The Perfect Weapon”）では、国家がサイバー攻撃を外交や軍事の手段として用いるようになった過程をたどる調査報道を翻訳した。アナ・ファイフィールドの『金正恩の実像』（原題 “The Great Successor”）には共訳者として参加。関係者への取材から、北朝鮮の指導者の生い立ち、権力の継承、統治の仕組みを描く評伝の日本語版を担当した。さらに、マデレーン・オルブライトの『ファシズム』（原題 “Fascism: A Warning”）を共訳し、20世紀の独裁体制と、民主主義の制度が内側から損なわれる過程を比較する議論を紹介した。
Yoshihiko Takatori is a Japanese translator of English-language books and news reporting. His work includes translating and editing news articles as well as books on international politics, security, and contemporary society. In David E. Sanger’s “The Perfect Weapon,” he translated an investigation into the emergence of cyberattacks as instruments of state power. The book follows the intersection of technological change, diplomacy, and military strategy. He was also a co-translator of Anna Fifield’s “The Great Successor,” a biography drawing on interviews to examine Kim Jong Un’s upbringing, succession, and methods of rule in North Korea. As a co-translator of Madeleine Albright’s “Fascism: A Warning,” he worked on a study connecting twentieth-century dictatorships with the erosion of democratic institutions. Albright’s account combined historical comparisons with her experience of international diplomacy.
