Osamu Takamine, born in 1968, is a Japanese sociologist of sport and a professor in the School of Political Science and Economics at Meiji University. His research focuses on sport and gender, including harassment and violence in athletic settings and issues involving athletes’ bodies and human rights. In the edited volume “Supotsu Kyoyo Nyumon,” he examines sportsmanship, injuries, athletic careers, doping, corporal punishment, and harassment.
