略歴（Biography）

高橋智幸（たかはし・ともゆき、1967年生まれ）は、日本の防災工学者。関西大学学長、同大学社会安全学部教授。東北大学大学院工学研究科修了、博士（工学）。津波、高潮、洪水などの水災害を専門とし、防災・減災に関する研究の第一人者として知られる。AIやシミュレーション、現地観測を組み合わせた防災研究に取り組むほか、再生可能エネルギーやサンゴ礁再生など環境分野にも研究を広げている。2024年に第44代関西大学学長に就任し、教育・研究の発展と社会課題の解決に取り組んでいる。

Tomoyuki Takahashi (born 1967) is a Japanese disaster prevention engineer and President of Kansai University, where he also serves as Professor in the Faculty of Societal Safety Sciences. He earned his Ph.D. in Engineering from Tohoku University and specializes in tsunami, storm surge, flood, and other water-related disasters. His research integrates artificial intelligence, numerical simulation, field observation, and experimental methods to improve disaster prevention and mitigation. He has also contributed to research on renewable energy and coral reef restoration. In 2024, he became the 44th President of Kansai University, leading the university's efforts in education, research, and social engagement.
