Noriaki Takahashi (born 1960) is a Japanese translator of English-language nonfiction on technology, business, and society. His work includes books about advances in information technology and associated changes in economic and everyday life. He translated Chris Anderson’s “Free,” an examination of business models that generate revenue around free products and services as digital reproduction and distribution costs fall. His translation of Ray Kurzweil’s “The Singularity Is Nearer” presents the author’s predictions about artificial intelligence and the relationship between technology and human capabilities. In Kashmir Hill’s “Your Face Belongs to Us,” he translated an investigation of Clearview AI, tracing the collection of facial photographs from the internet and their use by law-enforcement agencies to examine connections between technological development, business, and privacy.
