Douglas A. Blackmon（ダグラス・A・ブラックモン、1957年生まれ）は、アメリカのジャーナリスト、作家。長年にわたり The Wall Street Journal の記者を務め、経済、企業、政治、社会問題を取材した。調査報道を専門とし、とりわけアメリカ南部における人種差別と強制労働の歴史を掘り起こした研究で高い評価を受けている。2008年刊行の『Slavery by Another Name: The Re-Enslavement of Black Americans from the Civil War to World War II』は、南北戦争後も続いた黒人に対する事実上の奴隷制を明らかにした画期的なノンフィクションとして大きな反響を呼び、2009年のピューリッツァー賞 一般ノンフィクション部門を受賞した。同書は後にテレビドキュメンタリー化され、現代アメリカの人種史を考える上での重要作とされている。著書に『Slavery by Another Name』などがある。
Douglas A. Blackmon (born 1957) is an American journalist and author. During a distinguished career at The Wall Street Journal, he reported on business, economics, politics, and social issues, earning recognition for his investigative journalism. He is best known for uncovering the history of forced labor imposed on African Americans in the decades following the Civil War. His landmark book "Slavery by Another Name: The Re-Enslavement of Black Americans from the Civil War to World War II" revealed how systems of convict leasing and coerced labor effectively prolonged slavery well into the twentieth century. The book won the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for General Nonfiction and was later adapted into an acclaimed documentary film. It is widely regarded as one of the most influential works on the history of race and justice in the United States.
