ダニエル・ルイス（Daniel Lewis）は、アメリカの環境史家、科学史家。ハンティントン・ライブラリーのディブナー科学技術史担当上級キュレーターを務めるほか、カリフォルニア工科大学（Caltech）で環境人文学を教えている。生物多様性、絶滅、自然保護、科学史を専門とし、歴史学と環境科学を結びつけた研究で知られる。代表作『Twelve Trees: The Deep Roots of Our Future』では、12種の樹木を通して人類と自然の長い関係をたどり、森林が気候変動や生物多様性の保全に果たす重要な役割を描いている。
Daniel Lewis is an American environmental historian and historian of science. He serves as the Dibner Senior Curator for the History of Science and Technology at The Huntington Library and teaches environmental humanities at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). His research focuses on biodiversity, extinction, conservation, and the history of science, bringing historical perspective to contemporary environmental challenges. His best-known book, "Twelve Trees: The Deep Roots of Our Future", uses the stories of twelve remarkable tree species to explore the deep connections between people and forests and to illuminate the role of trees in addressing climate change and biodiversity loss.
