Daniel Golden (born 1955) is an American journalist and nonfiction author known for his investigative reporting on higher education, social inequality, and national security. While at The Wall Street Journal, he shared the 2004 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service for reporting that exposed preferential admissions practices at leading American universities. His best-known work, "Spy Schools: How the CIA, FBI, and Foreign Intelligence Secretly Exploit America's Universities," investigates how universities have become targets and arenas for intelligence operations, technology theft, and national security competition.
