Dalton T. Sirmans is an American fintech entrepreneur and impact investor. After working in journalism and legal media, he co-founded MainStreet Technologies in 1999 and spent nearly two decades building the company into a provider of credit-risk, lending, and regulatory solutions for community banks. He later studied international relations at Harvard University, focusing on refugees, migration, and forced displacement. In “The Refugee Advantage: Building Enterprise in the Face of Adversity,” he argues that refugees should be understood not only as recipients of assistance but also as entrepreneurs whose adaptability, creativity, and experience of managing risk can generate businesses, employment, and economic opportunity.
