セス・バークリー（Seth Berkley、1956年 - ） アメリカの医師、感染症疫学者、公衆衛生の専門家。ブラウン大学で医学を学び、ハーバード大学で内科研修を修了した後、アメリカ疾病予防管理センター（CDC）、ロックフェラー財団などで感染症対策やワクチン政策に携わった。1996年には国際エイズワクチン推進構想（IAVI）を創設し、2011年から2023年までGaviワクチンアライアンスのCEOを務め、低・中所得国へのワクチン普及や新型コロナウイルス感染症対策の国際的な枠組みであるCOVAXの推進に重要な役割を果たした。代表作 "Fair Doses: An Insider's Story of the Pandemic and the Global Fight for Vaccine Equity" は、新型コロナウイルス感染症への世界的対応とワクチン公平配分の舞台裏を、自身の経験をもとに描いた回想録であり、パンデミック時代の国際保健の課題と教訓を考察した一冊である。
Seth Berkley (born 1956) is an American physician, infectious disease epidemiologist, and global public health leader. After earning his medical degree from Brown University and completing his internal medicine training at Harvard University, he worked at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Rockefeller Foundation before founding the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI) in 1996. From 2011 to 2023, he served as CEO of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, where he expanded global immunization efforts and played a central role in establishing COVAX to promote equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines. His book "Fair Doses: An Insider's Story of the Pandemic and the Global Fight for Vaccine Equity" offers a first-hand account of the global response to COVID-19 and examines the challenges of achieving vaccine equity during a worldwide health crisis.
