Miwa Seki is a Japanese translator, entrepreneur, and venture capitalist. After graduating from Keio University with degrees in literature and law, she earned an MBA from Harvard Business School. She began her career at Dentsu before working in investment banking and asset management at firms including Smith Barney, Morgan Stanley, and Clay Finlay. In 2021, she co-founded MPower Partners, Japan's first ESG-focused global venture capital fund, where she serves as a General Partner. Alongside her business career, Seki has become one of Japan's leading translators of English-language nonfiction, specializing in business, economics, technology, and social issues. Known for her clear and engaging translations, she has introduced numerous internationally acclaimed works to Japanese readers. Her notable translations include Factfulness, Zero to One, Talking to My Daughter About the Economy: A Brief History of Capitalism, and How Music Got Free.
