佐藤卓己(さとう たくみ、1960年 - )は、日本のメディア史研究者、歴史学者。広島市生まれ。京都大学文学部卒業、同大学院文学研究科博士課程単位取得退学。東京大学新聞研究所助手、国際日本文化研究センター助教授、京都大学大学院教育学研究科教授などを経て、京都大学名誉教授、上智大学文学部新聞学科教授。メディア史、大衆文化論を専門とし、近現代日本における新聞、雑誌、テレビ、プロパガンダ、世論形成などを研究している。『「キング」の時代――国民大衆雑誌の公共性』で日本出版学会賞とサントリー学芸賞を受賞。大正末から昭和初期に100万部を超える大衆雑誌となった『キング』を通して、マスメディアが国民意識や大衆社会の形成に果たした役割を明らかにした。
Takumi Sato (born 1960) is a Japanese media historian and historian. Born in Hiroshima, he graduated from Kyoto University and completed his doctoral coursework at its Graduate School of Letters. After holding positions at the University of Tokyo, the International Research Center for Japanese Studies, and Kyoto University, he became Professor Emeritus at Kyoto University and Professor of Journalism at Sophia University. His research focuses on media history and popular culture, particularly newspapers, magazines, television, propaganda, and the formation of public opinion in modern Japan. His book "Kingu no Jidai: Kokumin Taishu Zasshi no Kokyosei" received both the Japan Society of Publishing Studies Award and the Suntory Prize for Social Sciences and Humanities. Through the mass-circulation magazine King, which surpassed one million copies in the early Showa period, the book examines the role of mass media in shaping national consciousness and mass society in modern Japan.
