佐藤正午(さとう・しょうご、1955年生まれ)は、日本の小説家。本名・佐藤謙隆。長崎県佐世保市生まれ。北海道大学文学部を中退後、郷里でアルバイト生活を送りながら創作活動を続け、1983年に『永遠の1/2』ですばる文学賞を受賞してデビューした。巧みに構成された物語と緻密な心理描写、日常と非日常が交錯する独創的な作風で高く評価されている。『鳩の撃退法』で山田風太郎賞、『月の満ち欠け』で直木三十五賞を受賞。近年は『熟柿』で中央公論文芸賞を受賞した。著書に『ジャンプ』『身の上話』『Y』『5』『冬に子供が生まれる』などがある。

Shogo Sato (born 1955) is a Japanese novelist renowned for his intricately structured narratives and subtle psychological insight. Born in Sasebo, Nagasaki Prefecture, he left Hokkaido University before completing his studies and devoted himself to writing while supporting himself with various jobs. He made his literary debut in 1983 when "Eien no Nibun no Ichi" ("Eternal One Half") won the Subaru Literary Prize. His fiction is celebrated for blending everyday life with mystery, coincidence, and emotional complexity through elegant, meticulously crafted storytelling. He received the Yamada Futaro Prize for "Hato no Gekitaihō" ("The Pigeon Repellent Method") and the Naoki Prize for "Tsuki no Michikake" ("Phases of the Moon"). More recently, his novel "Jukushi" ("Overripe Persimmons") won the Chuo Koron Literary Prize. His other notable works include "Jump," "Mi no Uebanashi" ("A Personal History"), "Y," "5," and "Fuyu ni Kodomo ga Umareru" ("A Child Is Born in Winter").
