Zayd Ayers Dohrn is an American playwright and screenwriter. He is a professor at Northwestern University, where he directs the MFA in Writing for Screen and Stage. His documentary podcast “Mother Country Radicals,” which examines his family and the history of the Weather Underground, received the Columbia-DuPont Award and the Tribeca Festival Award for Best Audio Storytelling. In his memoir “Dangerous, Dirty, Violent, and Young: A Fugitive Family in the Revolutionary Underground,” Dohrn recounts his childhood on the run with parents who were leaders of the organization, exploring the tensions between family loyalty, political violence, and the legacy of revolutionary commitment.
