サマンス・スブラマニアン（Samanth Subramanian） インド出身のジャーナリスト、ノンフィクション作家。ペンシルベニア州立大学でジャーナリズムを、コロンビア大学で国際関係論を学び、現在はロンドンを拠点に活動している。『ニューヨーカー』『ニューヨーク・タイムズ』『ガーディアン』『WIRED』などに寄稿し、政治、科学、歴史、文化を緻密な取材と優れたストーリーテリングで描く長編ルポルタージュで高く評価されている。代表作 "A Dominant Character: The Radical Science and Restless Politics of J. B. S. Haldane" は、進化生物学者J・B・S・ホールデンの波乱に満ちた生涯を通して、科学と政治、思想の関係を描いた評伝である。本書は2020年の『ニューヨーク・タイムズ』「100 Notable Books」に選ばれ、Duff Cooper Prizeの最終候補にもなった。
Samanth Subramanian is an Indian journalist and nonfiction writer based in London. He studied journalism at Pennsylvania State University and international relations at Columbia University before building an international career contributing to *The New Yorker*, *The New York Times*, *The Guardian*, *WIRED*, and other leading publications. Known for his deeply reported narrative nonfiction, he writes about politics, science, history, and culture with a distinctive blend of literary storytelling and investigative reporting. His best-known book, "A Dominant Character: The Radical Science and Restless Politics of J. B. S. Haldane," is a biography of the pioneering geneticist J. B. S. Haldane that explores the intersections of science, ideology, and public life.
