略歴（Biography）
佐藤厚志（さとう あつし、1982–） 日本の小説家。仙台市で書店員として働きながら創作を続け、2023年に『荒地の家族』で第168回芥川賞を受賞した。東日本大震災後の被災地を舞台に、喪失や再生、家族のつながりを静かな筆致で描く作品で知られる。『荒地の家族』は、震災が人々の日常や心に残した傷跡を丁寧に見つめながら、それでも生き続けようとする人間の姿を描き、多くの読者の共感を集めた。
Atsushi Sato (1982–) is a Japanese novelist. While working as a bookseller in Sendai, he continued writing fiction and won the 168th Akutagawa Prize in 2023 for "Arechi no Kazoku" ("The Wilderness Family"). His work is known for its quiet, compassionate portrayal of loss, recovery, and family in the aftermath of the Great East Japan Earthquake. Through the lives of ordinary people, the novel explores the lasting impact of disaster and the resilience required to rebuild everyday life.
