略歴（Biography）
笹生 心太（ささお しんた、1981年生まれ）は、日本のスポーツ社会学者。東京大学教育学部卒業、一橋大学大学院社会学研究科で修士号・博士号を取得。現在は東京女子体育大学体育学部准教授を務める。専門はスポーツ社会学で、スポーツとナショナリズム、メディア、オリンピック・パラリンピック、スポーツ政策、地域社会との関係を主な研究テーマとしている。スポーツを社会学的な視点から分析し、国際大会やスポーツ報道が社会や地域に及ぼす影響について研究を進めている。2022年刊行の『「復興五輪」とはなんだったのか―被災地から問い直す―』では、東京2020オリンピック・パラリンピックを「復興五輪」という理念の観点から検証し、被災地との関係や大会が残した課題を考察している。2025年刊行の『サッカー報道とナショナリズム―「日本人らしい」プレーとは何か』では、日本のサッカー報道を通して、スポーツとナショナリズムの関係を社会学的に分析している。
Shinta Sasao (born 1981) is a Japanese sociologist specializing in the sociology of sport. He earned his B.A. in Education from the University of Tokyo and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Sociology from Hitotsubashi University. He is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Physical Education at Tokyo Women's College of Physical Education. His research focuses on sport sociology, with particular emphasis on nationalism, media, the Olympic and Paralympic Games, sport policy, and the relationship between sport and local communities. Sasao examines how sporting events and media narratives shape national identity and public discourse. In What Was the “Recovery Olympics”? Rethinking Tokyo 2020 from the Disaster-Affected Areas (2022), he critically evaluates the legacy of the Tokyo Olympics through the lens of post-disaster reconstruction. His later book, Soccer Media and Nationalism: What Is “Japanese-Style” Football? (2025), explores how media narratives have shaped perceptions of national identity through Japanese football.
