ルシア・ベルリン（Lucia Berlin、1936–2004）は、アメリカの短編作家。自身の波瀾に富んだ人生を背景に、労働、貧困、依存症、家族、人間の尊厳を簡潔で詩情豊かな文体で描き、現代アメリカ短編文学を代表する作家の一人として再評価された。代表作『掃除婦のための手引き書』は、日常のなかで懸命に生きる人々を温かな眼差しと鋭い観察力で描いた短編集で、没後に世界的なベストセラーとなり、その文学的評価を決定づけた。
Lucia Berlin (1936–2004) was an American short story writer whose deeply autobiographical fiction explores work, poverty, addiction, family, and the resilience of ordinary people with remarkable wit, compassion, and lyrical precision. Although little known during her lifetime, she gained international recognition after the posthumous publication of *A Manual for Cleaning Women*, a celebrated collection that revealed her extraordinary talent to a global readership. Today, Berlin is widely regarded as one of the finest American short story writers of the twentieth century.
