Rozina Ali is a New York–based journalist and contributing writer at The New York Times Magazine. Her reporting focuses on the War on Terror, Islamophobia, the Middle East, and South Asia. She previously worked on the editorial staff of The New Yorker and served as a senior editor at The Cairo Review of Global Affairs, later holding fellowships at organizations including New America. In “Seasons of Fury: Four Families and the Rise of Islamophobia in America,” Ali follows four families to show how American Islamophobia developed over decades through surveillance, foreign policy, national-security practices, and counterterrorism law, rather than emerging only after September 11.
