Nobuhiko Matsui is a Japanese translator of books on physics, mathematics, medicine, and the information society. He completed a master’s-level program in electrical engineering at Keio University’s Graduate School of Science and Technology. Matsui translated Ananyo Bhattacharya’s “The Man from the Future,” a biography connecting John von Neumann’s life with quantum mechanics, computing, game theory, and nuclear weapons research. In Philip Ball’s “Beyond Weird,” he translated an examination of quantum theory that questions reliance on everyday analogies and considers problems of information and measurement. He also translated Sander van der Linden’s “Foolproof,” which investigates the psychology of misinformation and research into building resistance by exposing people to manipulative techniques before they encounter them in practice.
