マイケル・トーマス（Michael Thomas）は、アメリカの小説家、回想録作家。人種、家族、貧困、依存症、アメリカ社会における黒人男性の経験をテーマに、詩的で力強い文体による作品で知られる。現在はハンター・カレッジで英文学を教える。代表作『Man Gone Down』（未邦訳）は、生活の再建を目指す黒人男性の4日間を描いたデビュー長編で、国際IMPACダブリン文学賞を受賞し、『ニューヨーク・タイムズ』年間ベスト10冊にも選ばれた。その後刊行した回想録『The Broken King』（未邦訳）では、自身の家族史やトラウマ、父と息子の関係を通して、人種と継承、再生の物語を描き、大きな反響を呼んだ。
Michael Thomas is an American novelist and memoirist whose work explores race, family, poverty, addiction, and the emotional lives of Black men in America. Known for his lyrical prose and psychological depth, he teaches English at Hunter College in New York. His debut novel, *Man Gone Down*, won the International Dublin Literary Award and was named one of *The New York Times*' Top Ten Books of the Year, establishing him as a major new literary voice. His memoir, *The Broken King*, turns inward to examine trauma, fatherhood, alcoholism, and healing, offering an intimate portrait of three generations of Black American men.
