マックス・ブート（Max Boot、1969–） 軍事史家、ジャーナリスト。米国外交問題評議会（Council on Foreign Relations）シニアフェロー。軍事史、安全保障、アメリカ外交を専門とし、『ウォール・ストリート・ジャーナル』や『ワシントン・ポスト』などで論説を執筆している。近代戦争や軍事戦略に関する研究とともに、アメリカ外交政策をめぐる論考でも広く知られる。代表作『The Road Not Taken: Edward Lansdale and the American Tragedy in Vietnam』（未邦訳）は、アメリカの伝説的な情報・対反乱戦略家エドワード・ランズデールの生涯を通して、ベトナム戦争とアメリカ外交の光と影を描いた評伝である。
Max Boot (born 1969) is an American military historian, journalist, and the Jeane J. Kirkpatrick Senior Fellow for National Security Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations. Specializing in military history, national security, and U.S. foreign policy, he has written extensively on warfare, strategy, and international affairs for publications including "The Wall Street Journal" and "The Washington Post." His best-known book, "The Road Not Taken: Edward Lansdale and the American Tragedy in Vietnam," is a biography of Edward Lansdale that explores the Vietnam War and the successes and failures of American foreign policy through the career of one of its most influential strategists.
