略歴（Biography）
Masud Husain（マスード・フサイン）は、イギリスの神経内科医、認知神経科学者。University of Oxford神経学・認知神経科学教授、同大学New College, Oxfordフェロー。認知神経学の第一人者として、記憶、注意、意欲（アパシー）、認知症などの研究に取り組み、神経疾患が人間の認知や自己認識に与える影響を解明してきた。研究と臨床の両面で高い評価を受けるとともに、学術誌 Brain の編集長も務めている。著書に"Our Brains, Our Selves: What a Neurologist's Patients Taught Him About the Brain"（『脳が私たちをつくる――神経内科医が見た自己と脳の物語』）があり、2025年のRoyal Society Trivedi Science Book Prizeを受賞した。
Masud Husain is a British neurologist and cognitive neuroscientist. He is Professor of Neurology and Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Oxford, a Professorial Fellow of New College, Oxford, and Editor-in-Chief of the journal Brain. Internationally recognized for his pioneering research on memory, attention, motivation, and dementia, he investigates how neurological disorders affect cognition, identity, and behavior. Combining clinical practice with fundamental neuroscience, he has helped advance our understanding of the human brain and its role in shaping the self. His book "Our Brains, Our Selves: What a Neurologist's Patients Taught Him About the Brain" won the 2025 Royal Society Trivedi Science Book Prize.
