マーロン・ジェームズ（Marlon James、1970–）は、ジャマイカ出身の作家。カリブ海地域の歴史や政治、植民地主義の影響、人種、暴力を重層的な視点から描き、壮大な物語世界と力強い文体で現代英語文学を代表する作家の一人とされている。代表作 *A Brief History of Seven Killings*（未邦訳）では、1976年のボブ・マーリー襲撃事件を題材に、数十人の語り手による重層的な構成でジャマイカ社会と国際政治の交錯を描き、2015年にブッカー賞を受賞した。その後も *Black Leopard, Red Wolf*（未邦訳）をはじめとする作品で、アフリカ神話や歴史を大胆に取り入れた文学に挑み、新たな物語表現を切り開いている。
Marlon James (born 1970) is a Jamaican novelist whose ambitious fiction explores history, colonialism, race, violence, and power through richly layered narratives and distinctive literary styles. He gained international recognition with *A Brief History of Seven Killings*, a sweeping novel inspired by the attempted assassination of Bob Marley in 1976. The book won the 2015 Booker Prize and established James as one of the leading voices in contemporary literature. He later launched the acclaimed *Dark Star Trilogy* with *Black Leopard, Red Wolf*, drawing on African mythology and epic fantasy to create an original and expansive fictional world.
