Mark Mazower (born 1958) is a British historian and Ira D. Wallach Professor of History at Columbia University. His research focuses on modern European history, the Balkans, international history, and the history of war, empire, and global governance. His best-known work, "Dark Continent: Europe's Twentieth Century," offers a reinterpretation of twentieth-century Europe through the intertwined histories of democracy, fascism, and communism.
