略歴(Biography)

熊本史雄(くまもと・ふみお、1970年生まれ)は、日本の歴史学者。駒澤大学文学部教授。筑波大学卒業後、同大学大学院博士課程を経て、外務省外交史料館に勤務。その後、駒澤大学専任講師、准教授を経て現職。専門は日本近代史、日本政治外交史で、近代日本外交や日中関係、外務官僚、公文書・外交史料の研究に取り組んでいる。緻密な史料分析に基づく実証研究で知られ、近年は『外務官僚たちの大東亜共栄圏』で司馬遼太郎賞、樫山純三賞、大佛次郎論壇賞を受賞した。著書に『幣原喜重郎』『近代日本の外交史料を読む』『外務官僚たちの大東亜共栄圏』などがある。 Wikipedia ↗

Fumio Kumamoto (born 1970) is a Japanese historian specializing in modern Japanese history and diplomatic history. He is Professor of History at Komazawa University. After graduating from the University of Tsukuba, he pursued doctoral studies there and worked at the Diplomatic Archives of Japan before joining Komazawa University. His research focuses on modern Japanese diplomacy, Japan–China relations, foreign policy, and the history of the Japanese Foreign Ministry, with particular emphasis on archival research and diplomatic documents. Widely recognized for his rigorous scholarship, he received the Shiba Ryotaro Prize, the Junzo Kashiyama Prize, and the Osaragi Jiro Forum Prize for "Gaimu Kanryō-tachi no Dai Tōa Kyōeiken" ("Foreign Ministry Officials and the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere"). His other notable books include "Shidehara Kijūrō" and "Reading the Diplomatic Records of Modern Japan."
