熊谷千寿（くまがい ちとし）は、英語のミステリやノンフィクションを手がける日本の翻訳家。D・V・ビショップの『フィレンツェに悪魔が彷徨う』では、ルネサンス期の都市を舞台に、殺人事件を追う捜査官と社会の偏見を描いた歴史ミステリを訳している。エリオット・アッカーマンとジェイムズ・スタヴリディスの『2054 合衆国崩壊』では、近未来のアメリカの政治危機と新技術が交錯する物語を紹介。映画監督マイケル・マンとメグ・ガーディナーによる『ヒート2』では、犯罪者と捜査官の過去と未来を追う群像劇を訳している。児童向けの『大谷翔平物語』など、人物の歩みを伝える書籍も手がける。

Chitoshi Kumagai is a Japanese translator of English-language crime fiction and nonfiction. D. V. Bishop’s “City of Vengeance,” published in Japanese as “Firentse ni Akuma ga Samayou,” follows an investigator confronting murder and prejudice in Renaissance Florence. Elliot Ackerman and James Stavridis’s “2054” imagines a political crisis in the United States intertwined with emerging technology. Michael Mann and Meg Gardiner’s “Heat 2” follows criminals and investigators across the events preceding and following the film. Kumagai also translates books for younger readers, including an illustrated biography of baseball player Shohei Ohtani.
