久保 耕司（KUBO Koji）- 翻訳家

久保 耕司は、イタリアの小説や科学ノンフィクションを手がける翻訳家。1967年生まれ、北海道大学卒業。ステファノ・マンクーゾらの『植物は〈知性〉をもっている』では、感覚や情報のやり取りを備えた生物として植物を捉える研究を訳した。バルバラ・マッツォライの『ロボット学者、植物に学ぶ』は、根の成長などの仕組みをロボットの開発に応用する試みを扱う。マンクーゾの『植物は〈未来〉を知っている』では、植物の能力を建築やエネルギーなどの技術に生かす着想を扱っている。

Koji Kubo translates Italian fiction and scientific nonfiction. Born in 1967, he graduated from Hokkaido University. His translation of Stefano Mancuso and Alessandra Viola’s Brilliant Green considers plants as organisms with sensory and communicative capacities. Barbara Mazzolai’s La natura geniale examines how processes such as root growth can inform the development of robots. Mancuso’s work published in Japanese as Shokubutsu wa Mirai o Shitteiru considers ways in which plant capacities can inspire technologies in fields such as architecture and energy.
