Junko Kumagai is a Japanese translator whose work includes psychology, behavioral economics, science, business, and children’s books. She graduated from Osaka Kyoiku University and completed a master’s program at the University of Colorado. In Dan Ariely’s “Predictably Irrational,” she translated experiments showing how choices are shaped by context and presentation. Douglas T. Kenrick and Vladas Griskevicius’s work on decision-making considers modern behavior through motives formed in human evolution. Her translation of Stephen Schwarzman’s “What It Takes,” published in Japanese as “Burakkusuton Wei,” presents lessons drawn from founding and running an investment business. Her work combines investigations of judgment with accounts of practical experience.
