河野哲也(こうの・てつや、1963年生まれ)は、日本の哲学者、教育学者。立教大学文学部教育学科教授。慶應義塾大学大学院文学研究科博士課程修了、博士(哲学)。専門は現象学、心の哲学、環境哲学、教育哲学、応用倫理学で、「哲学対話(Philosophy for Children)」の日本における第一人者としても知られる。教育現場での対話を通じて思考力や対話力を育む実践に長年取り組むとともに、哲学を身近なものとして社会に広める活動を続けている。近年はアフリカ哲学の研究にも力を注ぎ、2024年刊行の『アフリカ哲学全史』は大きな反響を呼んだ。著書に『問う方法・考える方法』『人は語り続けるとき、考えていない』『道徳を問いなおす』『教育哲学講義』『アフリカ哲学全史』などがある。

Tetsuya Kono (born 1963) is a Japanese philosopher and Professor of Education at the Rikkyo University. He earned a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Keio University and specializes in phenomenology, philosophy of mind, environmental philosophy, educational philosophy, and applied ethics. Widely recognized as one of Japan's leading advocates of philosophical dialogue (Philosophy for Children), he has worked extensively to promote inquiry-based learning and critical thinking through dialogue in schools and communities. In recent years, he has also contributed to the introduction of African philosophy to Japanese readers with his widely discussed book "A Comprehensive History of African Philosophy." His other notable books include "How to Ask Questions and How to Think," "When We Keep Talking, We Are Not Thinking," "Rethinking Morality," and "Lectures on the Philosophy of Education."
