後藤 敦史（GOTO Atsushi）- 歴史学者

後藤 敦史（ごとう あつし、1982–） 歴史学者。京都橘大学文学部准教授。専門は幕末政治史・外交史で、黒船来航から開国に至る政治過程や海防政策、海洋史を研究している。幕末日本を国際関係や海洋空間の視点から捉え直し、従来の「開国史」像を再検討する研究で知られる。代表作『忘れられた黒船　アメリカ北太平洋戦略と日本開国』は、ペリー来航だけでは捉えられない幕末の日米関係を描き出し、開国の歴史を新たな視点から読み解いた。

Atsushi Goto (born 1982) is a Japanese historian and Associate Professor in the Faculty of Letters at Kyoto Tachibana University. Specializing in the political and diplomatic history of the late Tokugawa period, his research focuses on Japan's opening to the West, coastal defense, and maritime history. His work reexamines the end of Japan's isolation through the broader context of international relations and the maritime world. His best-known book, "The Forgotten Black Ships: American North Pacific Strategy and the Opening of Japan," offers a new perspective on U.S.–Japan relations beyond Commodore Perry's expedition.
