Colson Whitehead（コルソン・ホワイトヘッド、1969年生まれ）は、アメリカの小説家、エッセイスト。ハーバード大学卒業後、雑誌 The Village Voice の記者を経て作家となった。人種、歴史、アメリカ社会をテーマに、リアリズム、歴史小説、幻想文学、ディストピアなど多彩な手法を自在に取り入れた作品で高く評価され、現代アメリカ文学を代表する作家の一人とされる。2016年刊行の『The Underground Railroad』で2017年のピューリッツァー賞 フィクション部門を受賞し、2019年刊行の『The Nickel Boys』でも2020年の同賞を受賞した。フィクション部門で2度のピューリッツァー賞を受賞した数少ない作家の一人である。著書に『The Intuitionist』『John Henry Days』『Zone One』『The Underground Railroad』『The Nickel Boys』『Harlem Shuffle』『Crook Manifesto』などがある。

Colson Whitehead (born 1969) is an American novelist and essayist. After graduating from Harvard University, he worked as a writer for The Village Voice before launching his literary career. Widely regarded as one of the foremost voices in contemporary American fiction, Whitehead is known for his inventive novels that blend historical fiction, realism, speculative fiction, and satire to examine race, history, and American society. He won the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for The Underground Railroad and the 2020 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for The Nickel Boys, becoming one of the few writers to receive the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction twice. His other notable works include The Intuitionist, John Henry Days, Zone One, Harlem Shuffle, and Crook Manifesto.
