加藤 真也（かとう しんや）は、環境政策の経済・産業への影響を数量的に分析する環境経済学者。神戸大学農学部を卒業し、2014年に同大学大学院経済学研究科博士後期課程を修了、博士（経済学）を取得した。岡山商科大学、山口大学で教育・研究に携わり、2025年に名城大学経済学部教授となった。応用一般均衡分析や産業連関分析、マクロ計量モデルを用いて、温室効果ガスの排出削減やエネルギー政策が生産、雇用、産業構造に及ぼす影響を研究してきた。日本とASEANの脱炭素政策協力を研究し、編著『Decarbonization Policy Toward Asia Zero Emission Community』（未邦訳）では、アジア・ゼロエミッション共同体（AZEC）を軸に、電力部門の投資、技術移転、炭素市場、資金調達などを通じた地域の脱炭素化を扱った。一方、2020年4月にYouTube講座「はじめよう経済学」を開始し、動画にスライドや問題集を組み合わせてミクロ・マクロ経済学の基礎を解説した。『この１冊でミクロとマクロが同時にわかる経済学』では、日本経済の生産・所得・支出の循環を入口に、GDPや金融・財政政策、家計と企業の行動、市場の失敗や貿易を取り上げ、二つの分野を一冊にまとめた。
Shinya Kato is an environmental economist who uses quantitative models to study the economic and industrial effects of environmental policy. He graduated from Kobe University’s Faculty of Agriculture and completed its doctoral programme in economics in 2014, earning a Ph.D. After teaching and conducting research at Okayama Shoka University and Yamaguchi University, he became a professor in Meijo University’s Faculty of Economics in 2025. His research uses computable general equilibrium analysis, input–output analysis, and macro-econometric models to examine how emissions reductions and energy policies affect production, employment, and industrial structure. His work on decarbonization cooperation between Japan and ASEAN informed the volume he edited, “Decarbonization Policy Toward Asia Zero Emission Community.” Centred on the Asia Zero Emission Community initiative, it examined power-sector investment, technology transfer, carbon markets, and financing as aspects of regional decarbonization. Alongside his research, he launched the Japanese YouTube course “Hajimeyo Keizaigaku” in April 2020, combining video lessons with slides and exercises to explain introductory microeconomics and macroeconomics. His Japanese-language book “Kono Issatsu de Mikuro to Makuro ga Doji ni Wakaru Keizaigaku” brought these two fields together. Starting with the circulation of production, income, and expenditure in Japan’s economy, it covered GDP, monetary and fiscal policy, household and firm behaviour, market failure, and international trade.
