略歴（Biography）
河田皓史（かわた ひろし、1987年 - ） 日本のエコノミスト。東京大学経済学部卒業後、日本銀行に入行し、調査統計局、企画局、金融機構局で日本経済や金融政策、物価・インフレ予想、金融システムに関する分析に従事した。デューク大学大学院で経済学修士号を取得し、2023年にみずほリサーチ＆テクノロジーズ（現・みずほ総合研究所）へ移籍。現在は主席エコノミストとして、日本経済や金融政策、労働市場を中心に調査・分析を行い、新聞・雑誌への寄稿やメディア出演などを通じて積極的に発信している。代表作『働く人が減っていく国でこれから起きること』は、人手不足やFIRE、非婚化といった社会の変化が日本経済に及ぼす影響を分析し、人口減少時代の成長とインフレの行方を考察した一冊である。
Hiroshi Kawata (born 1987) is a Japanese economist and Chief Economist at Mizuho Research Institute. After graduating from the University of Tokyo, he joined the Bank of Japan, where he worked on macroeconomic analysis, monetary policy, inflation expectations, and financial stability. He later earned a master's degree in economics from Duke University and joined Mizuho Research & Technologies in 2023. His research focuses on the Japanese economy, labor markets, inflation, and monetary policy, and he is a frequent contributor to major Japanese media outlets. His best-known book, "Hataraku Hito ga Hette Iku Kuni de Korekara Okiru Koto" ("What Will Happen in a Country with Fewer Workers"), examines how labor shortages, the FIRE movement, and demographic change are reshaping Japan's economy and explores the country's future under population decline.
