略歴（Biography）
加藤喜之（かとう よしゆき、Yoshiyuki Kato、1979–） 宗教学者、思想史研究者。立教大学文学部教授。アメリカの宗教と政治思想を専門とし、福音派やキリスト教ナショナリズム、宗教と民主主義の関係について研究している。プリンストン神学大学院で博士号（Ph.D.）を取得し、東京基督教大学准教授、ケンブリッジ大学クレア・ホールおよびロンドン・スクール・オブ・エコノミクスの客員フェローなどを経て現職。代表作『福音派―終末論に引き裂かれるアメリカ社会』は、アメリカ政治に大きな影響力を持つ福音派の歴史や思想、政治運動との結びつきをたどり、現代アメリカ社会を理解するための視点を提示した一冊である。
Yoshiyuki Kato (born 1979) is a Japanese scholar of religion and intellectual history and Professor in the College of Arts at Rikkyo University. His research focuses on American religion, political theology, evangelicalism, Christian nationalism, and the relationship between religion and democracy. He received his Ph.D. from Princeton Theological Seminary and has held academic positions and fellowships at institutions including Tokyo Christian University, Clare Hall at the University of Cambridge, and the London School of Economics. His best-known work, "Evangelicals: American Society Divided by End Times Theology," examines the history, beliefs, and political influence of American evangelicalism, offering a framework for understanding its role in contemporary U.S. politics.
