カーティス・ヤーヴィン（1973年生まれ）は、アメリカのソフトウェア開発者、政治評論家。分散型コンピューティング基盤Urbitを開発し、その運営会社Tlonを共同創業した。メンシウス・モールドバグの筆名でブログ「Unqualified Reservations」を執筆し、自由民主主義と平等主義を批判する新反動主義（NRx）の形成に影響を与えた。代表作『ネオ君主論――民主主義の敗北とテック右派の時代』では、選挙民主主義が統治者の責任を曖昧にしていると批判し、企業の最高経営責任者のような強い権限を持つ「責任ある君主」に統治を委ねる構想を提示。トランプ政権、テック右派、中国との関係、日本を「スタートアップ国家」として再編する可能性についても論じている。
Curtis Yarvin (born 1973) is an American software developer and political essayist. He created the decentralized computing platform Urbit and co-founded Tlon, the company established to develop it. Writing under the name Mencius Moldbug on the blog "Unqualified Reservations," he helped shape the anti-democratic and anti-egalitarian movement known as neoreaction, or NRx. In "Neo Kunshuron: Minshushugi no Haiboku to Tekku Uha no Jidai," a book published for Japanese readers, Yarvin argues that electoral democracy obscures responsibility for government and proposes transferring authority to an “accountable monarch” resembling a corporate chief executive. He also discusses the Trump administration, the technology right, relations with China, and his proposal for rebuilding Japan as a “startup nation.”
